The weather in Manchester is notorious for being often wet and gloomy, and now that summer is almost over we might be getting plenty more of this weather.

What will the weather be like in Manchester today?
Temperatures look set to remain in the high teens throughout the day, and the weather itself looks likley to be sunny through most of the afternoon.
The top temperature of 17C will be felt around much of the afternoon before the day gradually cools as we head into the evening.
The day will end with dry spells after what will have been pleasant day.
The temperature will remain steady throughout the evening and into the night, remaining well into double figures at almost around 9C.
Tomorrow looks set to be sunnier but cooler, with a high temperature of just 15C.
What is the Met Office summary for the week ahead?
The Met Office has issued their summary for the coming few days across the North West of England.
A fresh start for some, especially across Cumbria and Lancashire. Any fog patches clearing by around mid-morning and then most places bright with sunny spells, but a few showers are possible. Feeling slightly warmer than yesterday, with mostly light winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Isolated showers continuing this evening and overnight, these mostly becoming confined to coastal areas. Otherwise, a dry and chilly night with clear periods allowing a touch of frost more rurally. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
A generally bright day with sunny spells and whilst a few showers are possible, many places will stay dry. A cool northerly breeze, but feeling pleasant in any afternoon sunshine. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
A chilly but bright start on Sunday, then clouding over with rain arriving overnight. Sunny spells and showers on Monday and Tuesday and feeling colder with brisk north-westerly winds.

The Met Office have issued their long range weather forecast for the period from Tuesday 27 September to Thursday 6 October.
A generally unsettled start to the period across the UK with a mixture of bright or sunny spells, showers and occasional longer spells of rain. Most persistent rain may affect the east at first and will become more likely for the west later.
Any drier and brighter spells are most probable for central and southern regions. Often windy, with gales possible at times, mainly across the north and east. Into October, the conditions are likely to remain changeable with further frontal systems spreading from the west and northwest at times.
Wettest conditions with periods of strong winds likely in the west, driest weather in the southeast. Temperatures rather cold at first, particularly across the north, but becoming close to or just above normal by the end of the period.
