COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri gymnastics team enters the 2022 season ranked No. 16 in the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association 2022 preseason poll, the organization announced Friday.
This marks the third year in a row that the Tigers have been ranked No. 16 this season, and for the sixth season in a row, Mizzou was selected in the top 20.
The Tigers welcome five newcomers who made up the nation’s fourth-ranked recruiting class. The Eleven Tigers return to the 2022 season with the All-American on the bar Helen Hue. “We are so excited about the season on the horizon,” the head coach said Shannon Welker said. “With the talented young women making up our freshman class and returning, we expect to be a very competitive and fun team to watch this year. Our team members have set higher goals for themselves!”
The Tigers begin the 2022 season on Friday, January 7, when they host a quad race against Ball State, Illinois State and Southeast Missouri.
