Birmingham City duo receive international call-ups for England and Republic of Ireland


Birmingham City players George Hall and Scott Hogan will be on international duty this summer after being called up by their respective national teams.

Hall will link up with the England U18’s squad after being selected by Richard Garry. Hogan, meanwhile, has retained his place in Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland team ahead of the Uefa Nations League campaign.

The Young Lions travel to Croatia for games against Austria, Wale and the Croats in June. All matches will take place at the NK Sesvete Stadium in Zagreb.

The 17-year-old midfielder made his first-team breakthrough for Blues last season, making two appearances for Lee Bowyer’s side. He was also capped three times by the England U18s last term.

Hogan faces a hectic schedule with the Boys In Green. The Irish team will play four games in 10 days as they face Ukraine home and away, Scotland and Armenia.

The striker has been capped nine times for Ireland since making his international debut in 2018. He is still looking for his first goal in green, something he will hoping to amend next month.
