The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is fast approaching and while many are using the double bank holiday as an opportunity to head abroad, those of us staying at home will have plenty to enjoy with hotels up and down the country commemorating the occasion by putting on street parties, Jubilee-themed afternoon teas and even offering private views of the Crown Jewels. While much of the activity is centred around London’s grande dame hotels, outside of the capital others are making the most of their more spacious grounds by hosting garden parties and picnics.
Here, we round-up the best Platinum Jubilee events happening at hotels across Britain.
The Langham, Marylebone, London
The Langham is going all out to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne and will be adorned with bunting over the bank holiday weekend with a special trolley set up at the front of the hotel serving ice cream, iced tea and pink lemonade to guests and passers-by. The festivities continue inside with a Jubilee afternoon tea (available from May 25 to June 26) featuring ingredients holding a Royal Warrant. Dubonnet cocktails – said to be the Queen’s favourite tipple – will also be available. For something more casual, the hotel’s Wigmore pub will be serving a special punch (£7) and screening all the festivities.
